You may be aware of the work by Southern Water’s Clean Rivers and Seas Taskforce in Tankerton in the last year or so. Following on from that, a project team from the taskforce has been engaging with people who live in Chestfield about upcoming surface water separation works to reduce storm overflows.
As part of that engagement, a drop in session is taking place next week to explain how separating surface water – such as rainwater from roofs, yards, and driveways – from the wastewater system helps reduce flooding, improves river and sea water quality, and prevents storm overflows.
The project partners for the work in Chestfield will also be at the event at The WI Hall (53 Chestfield Road, Chestfield, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 3LD) on Thursday 16 October from 5pm – 8pm. People living in a number of roads have been sent letters with the event details.
Everyone is very welcome to attend.
