We asked CCC on 12 August 2025 for a scoping opinion on whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment is required. CCC officers finalised a report and circulated it to the three statutory consulting bodies; Natural England, Historic England and The Environment Agency. (Only Natural England responded to CCC.)
An email was received on 09 January 2026 with the Chestfield Neighbourhood Plan Strategic Environmental Assessment and Habitats Regulations Assessment Screening Report and the Report Appendix A, which details Natural England’s feedback on the assessments.
The report assessed that the Chestfield Regulation 14 Neighbourhood Plan is unlikely to cause significant environmental effects and so neither a Strategic Environmental Assessment or a Habitat Regulations ‘Appropriate Assessment’, are required.
