Chestfield Neighbourhood Plan – Pre-Submission Consultation (Regulation 14)
As part of the requirements of the Localism Act 2011 and of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Chestfield Parish Council is undertaking Pre-Submission Consultation (Regulation 14) on its Neighbourhood Plan.
We are seeking your views on the Draft Neighbourhood Plan.

We are also offering Presubmission document Consultation events for you to see hard copies of the draft document and meet and speak with members of the Steering Group who have compiled this draft Neighbourhood Plan:
Please come along to the WI Hall in Chestfield Road on either
Saturday 06 September from 10am to 1pm; or
Tuesday 09 September from 6pm – 8pm.
This pre-submission consultation runs for a period of six weeks: 01 September 2025 to 14 October 2025. The consultation period will conclude at Midnight on Tuesday 14 October 2025.
The input received through this consultation will be instrumental in finalising the Plan before its submission to Canterbury City Council.

Ultimately the Neighbourhood Plan will form part of the CCC Development Plan – The Neighbourhood Plan policies will carry equal weight to the Canterbury District Local Plan policies in decision making.
The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has drafted Chestfield’s pre-submission Neighbourhood Plan to reflect the points raised by the community back in January 2025. We would now ask for your feedback on the Policies in this Plan. The Chestfield Neighbourhood Plan will become a planning policy document carrying equal weight to the Canterbury District Local Plan so your input is critical. It is looking to shape future development in the area but cannot conflict with the Canterbury District Local Plan. Therefore, please restrict your comments to the content and policies included in our draft pre-submission Plan only.
